During the brainstorm on how to get on the bandwagon, I suggested that we leverage our global network: we could translate into Chinese content from other territories and call it “Laowais on Olympics!”—god knows how we Chinese treasure foreigners’ opinions—and feed original user-generated content, made here in

Greetings from NYC,
It is troubling to have your efforts thwarted, thoughts and dreams deconstructed, colored and reinterpreted by others. Still, it's all about how you channel those images. I am an artist / chef planning a trip to Beijing in the hopes of opening a small art gallery / cafe in the city. The concept; to create a thought neutral environment, where art and urban culture can fuse harmoniously (or not) in an attempt to manifest future platforms of expression. Am I being too vague, perhaps obtuse? Your choice of reading material is commendable although classic in nature. May I suggest; Guns, Germs and Steel [The Fates of Human Societies] by Jared Diamond, Simone de Beauvoir by Lisa Appignanesi, World Civilizations by (Sherman, Grunfeld, Markowitz, Rosner and Heywood) published by McGraw-Hill. These recommendations all share a universal concept of cultural self (Beauvoir; more gender oriented) forms of progressive expression and concept.
It is this type of sociocultural esthetic I am attempting to propagate in art and your input would br sincerely appreciated.
